BWB - Reflection on paint shoot 1
Where, When and Who?
- We had originally planned to do the shoot in Oli's utility room, however we had difficulty with pinning the sheet against the wall. I then came up with the idea of getting people to hold each corner of the sheet in an external location (field) where the amount of mess made would not matter.
- We took this footage on the 10/11/2015 during a study period leading into lunchtime.
- Oli and Freddie where both involved in the filming and throwing the paint over me. I was the actor who stood in front of the sheet whilst the paint was thrown.
My role
- My role throughout the footage was to be the actor who stood centre screen of the camera in front of the sheet showing no facial expression as the paint was thrown over me.
How useful was the Shot list?
- We were only filming about 10 seconds worth of footage so the sheet seemed relatively useful, however some of the shots on the lists were unachievable due to the size of the sheet. The bed sheet needed to be larger in order for us to achieve the shots identified on our shot list.
Best shot?
- We only managed to achieve one shot, there was little margin for error, however there were still faults with the frame rate which should have been at60 frames per second, so therefore we will be filming again.
Problematic shots
- The entire footage had faults. The framing was incorrect. We filmed at a close up, when we would preferably shoot at a medium close up. The camera also need to be set at 60 frames per second. Additionally I was unable to keep a neutral facial expression and blinked aggressively prior to the paint being thrown. This was due to how hard the paint was being thrown at my face. Lastly we needed a bigger bed sheet. The bed sheet used was a fitted bed sheet oppose to a standard one which is easier to hold and stretch across a bigger distance. This problem is indicated in the picture below.
